NUTRITION // x NÄRING COLLECTIVE - Hummus Recipe
For 2017, Cass (co-founder of näring collective) resolved to make her own hummus because she eats so much of it. Making it at home not only decreases the amount of plastic waste being added to the landfill from the containers, but it also reduces the amount of food additives being ingested!
Watch the video below for the recipe, which is also outlined below.

The Recipe
Servings 8
Time: 15 min
Ingredients
2 cups chickpeas, canned and rinsed, or well-cooked
½ cup of tahini
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 lemon, juiced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of cumin
salt and pepper to taste
chopped parsley to garnish
Equipment
A medium to large-sized food processor
Hand juicer
Large bowl to serve or container to store
Instructions
Combine all ingredients into food processor. Blend to your desired consistency. Add water as required.
Transfer to serving bowl and garnish with parsley.
My favorite is snacking on hummus in between meals, add it to salad dressings, and use it as as a spread on sandwiches, burritos, and burgers.
