WEDDING // BRIDESMAIDS DRESS JOURNEY
Hi cuties!
A few weeks ago I went to visit the new David’s Bridal Store in Vaughan, Ontario. Right where
my old home used to be :)!
When I went to the appointment I wasn’t sure what I really wanted my bridesmaids to wear. I
had been thinking of doing a spectrum of colours with everyone wearing a different style that
suited them, but I was having a really hard time choosing a color palette!
My appointment started out with the stylist, who was super helpful and started off with
explaining all the different fabrics available, different collections, and gave me a fun color wheel
to use to explore all my options! It was so much easier seeing all the color options in one place
and in the actual material. I found that it was so hard to see the true colors online or even in
their printed look book. It definitely is worth making a trip to the store to see their fabric/color
wheel in person.
Thankfully, I had decided on my wedding colors going into the appointment, and I knew I
wanted my bridesmaids dresses to be something pretty neutral. I had initially thought that I
wanted something with a dark green in it, but when I went into the David’s Bridal Store to look
at their bridesmaids dresses, I ended up being so inspired that I went in a slightly different
direction.
I was almost immediately drawn to their chiffon bridesmaids dresses. Our wedding is at end of
July, which means it will be PRETTY hot out, and I loved the idea of this romantic airy fabric for
my bridesmaids on our big day.
Next came the question of color. The grey palette all started with a dress I found that was the
perfect mix of a dark grey with a green undertone. Then I started to look around for other grey
shades to add to the collection. I needed to find 5 shades for each of my bridesmaids to have
a different color to achieve that mix/match look I was looking for.
I had one of my bridesmaids with me - Travis’ sister. And she was able to quickly find her dress
because all the styles were displayed in the lookbook, and we had all the colors/fabrics in
hand!
Plus, there are so many David’s Bridal locations, my other bridesmaids that aren’t in town can
go to the ones closest to them and try-on dresses themselves too, which makes it so much
more convenient!
My experience at David’s Bridal in Vaughan made me feel a lot more at ease with the whole
process of choosing my bridesmaids gowns. I was so stressed out about not knowing what I
wanted and making sure my bridesmaids were happy too that it made it hard to sleep!! But I’m
happy to report that after my bridesmaids appointment, I slept like a baby.
I’m so excited for all of my bridesmaids to find their dresses now that I have narrowed down
the colors for each one!! I’ll of course keep you all posted on the styles & you’ll see them in
action on the big day :)!
For all of you cuties that have been asking me about bridesmaids dresses and where to get
them, I think you’ll all really enjoy David’s Bridal’s bridesmaids collection as much as I did!
And as usual, don’t hesitate to email me or send me a DM if you have any questions :)!
xx
