Hi cuties!
This week I’m going to recap my trip to Orlando, Florida with Visit Orlando! :)
Just in time too because it’s getting SO COLD here in Toronto, that I will take any hint of warmth even if it is the form of a trip recap.
We started our trip on Sunday morning. Trav and I flew to Orlando early so that we could get a head start on our adventure! After settling into our resort we decided to go to Disney Springs, which was so beautiful because we got to the water just as the sun was setting!! The hot air balloon in the background reflected with the colours of the sky into the water and it made the most magical moment to start our trip off with.
Monday was our day at Walt Disney World AND our 7 year anniversary! We visited Magic Kingdom + Epcot International Food & Wine Festival for a full day of fun and delicious treats ! I was so excited to get a Mickey Mouse shaped pretzel!! I almost wanted to not eat it and keep it as a souvenir :p, but quickly realized it looked too delicious. The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival was so much fun because we got to try all these different foods from different places plus taste the wine and beer of the world! Plus, Soarin’ definitely lives up to the hype! It was such a fun day to spend our last dating anniversary before we get married next year!
Tuesday we headed over to Universal Orlando where Trav and I lived out our Harry Potter dreams. We started our day hanging out with Vin Diesel at the Fast and the Furious warehouse, then went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter where we explored Gringotts Wizarding Bank in one of the funnest rollercoaster rides I’ve been on! Plus, we finally got to try some Butterbeer and ride the Hogwart’s Express. I kind of wanted to stay there forever.
Wednesday was an action packed day! We tried out Topgolf Orlando for the first time and realized quickly that we needed one of these in Toronto ASAP. Seriously, think about your favourite bar/restaurant spot and then add on the fact you can golf at the same time. Yes, it’s a thing in Orlando. I finally got to work on my swing after over a decade of not holding a golf club ... I got a little lucky because I kept somehow hitting the ball diagonally and it kept falling into the side target, alas, I still didn’t win though. We then moved onto Andretti Indoor Karting & Games where Trav and I raced go karts (I also lost ... by a significant margin lol). I’ve noted to never compete against Trav on these things ever again! After that we spent the rest of the afternoon in there playing games, and even zip lining above the arcade!
Thursday we spent the morning exploring Winter Park, a picturesque part of Orlando that is lined with beautiful trees, cute bistros, wine rooms, and specialty boutiques - basically everything I live for lol! We also went to Lake Eola Park where we got a great view of the Orlando Skyline and enjoyed a relaxing stroll around this 1 mile path filled with a beautiful canopy of trees and cute wildlife!
Friday was our last full day in Orlando. So of course I had to get my shopping on before I left! We went to the Mall at Millenia, a 1.2 million square foot centre that had all the luxury stores of my dreams. Think full size Chanel, Gucci, LV stores & an Hermes soon to come all in the same place! Needless to say I found a couple things to take home with me. We also stopped for food at Brio Tuscan Grille to refuel. I had THE BEST kale Caesar salad I’ve ever had. Seriously, I’m drooling about it now while I write this post! We then left for Orlando Premium Outlets where I shopped stores like Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, North Face, and Polo Ralph Lauren. When we were finally shopped out (...it does happen eventually :p) we finally headed back to the resort to pack our bags for our trip home.
It was sad to say goodbye to the glorious warm weather and the relaxing / fun-filled week. I can’t believe it took me over a decade to come back to Orlando, but it won’t take me that long next time!! I was really pleasantly surprised with how much there was to do on top of the classic theme parks, and can’t wait for you all to head there to find out for yourself too!
Make sure to watch my VLOG below for a behind the scenes look on my trip!
Until next time!
xx
