TRANSITION OUTFITS // Jumping the gun on Fall '16
Trench - ZARA | Shorts - J.Crew | Shirt - Kit + Ace | Sandals - Birkenstock
Alright lovelies, I'm back after a mini hiatus. To be honest, writing is not my favorite thing about blogging - my favorite part is creating content, the photography + building and connecting with my community.
Lately, I've been feeling the need and urge to write something different than explaining what I wear, how I style it, and why. Don't get me wrong, I'll still write about that because those are my roots and still a great passion of mine, plus its how I've started this whole blogging thing, but I think I'm ready to evolve a little bit and start sharing different parts of me with you all. So in the next few weeks you'll see different topics showing up on this page + I'm open to new ideas and interests that you lovelies have because its you that will be reading it right? :p
Anywho ... this IS a style post so this is what I was thinking when I put this all together.
I got this beautiful trench coat form the Zara summer sale, even when it was over 30 degrees outside I knew it was going to be an amazing piece for the transition season. Right now the weather is driving me insane - its absolutely beautiful in the morning (like 20 degrees, just how I like it), but then it becomes extremely sticky hot (30 degrees) during the day, then it drops again. So what is a girl to do?
I still wake up in the morning wanting to put on shorts and a T-shirt, but now I get to pick a piece of outerwear to get me started/through the day. It is also another reason why I love fall so much. I absolutely live for great outerwear + layering, so this has got my juices flowing with outfit ideas for the fall, but for now we'll stick to transition for now.
I love how this trench looks on. I always wanted a trench coat, but I didn't love how stiff a lot of them are. When I saw this online and saw how it flowed on the model, I was hoping that it would finally be the coat I've been looking for (and not too long, since I ain't 6 ft tall!). Fortunately, it fit and looked beautiful on when it finally arrived, which I sadly cannot say with most of my online purchases! It also hit at the exact right spot I wanted - I wanted a longer trench so that it would look more dramatic.
I paired this trench coat with linen black shorts to keep things clean and minimal + paired it with my lighter coloured suede Birkenstock slides to bring in some texture that is also subdued keeping the focus on the statement trench.
