LIFESTYLE // x AMAZON - Celebrating World Book Day
Hola lovelies!
I’m so humbled + honoured to celebrate World Book Day in partnership with Amazon!! Firstly, the bookworm in me is jumping for joy at the chance to be part of such an impactful day, and secondly, the extrovert in me is excited to share my love for reading with so many of my friends and our beautiful community!!
When I was younger, I was one of those kids that brought books to the restaurant and would be reading and reading … and reading until my parents had to tell me to get my nose out of my book because my food was getting cold. I know… I know now that my table manners needed improving, but sadly I catch myself doing a similar thing now with my iPhone!
Note to self: Jess – stop taking your phone out at meals … ok, ok - exceptions can be made for when the food is too pretty to eat …
Okay – real question, who wants to celebrate World Book Day with me?! I mean, celebrate with me in PERSON – not just via liking / commenting on my social media pictures (which I LOVE by the way, so keep ‘em coming!).
I’ll be at Boxcar Social in Toronto on April 20th at 2:30pm to share my love of reading + books at one of my favorite spots in the city!!
You can take a book. Leave a book. And keep the book loving world rotating with treasured writing + stories.
And yes, you didn’t read that wrong – you don’t have to buy a book to come hang out – Amazon is celebrating making reading accessible to all. I’m fan-girl-ing over how Amazon is making sure that socio-economic standing/income does not impact a person’s access to books, yes – my heart is melting too. I mean, everyone should have a chance to get lost in a book-world of their own!
Okay – now I’m going to share a list of my favorite books growing up + some of my favorite reads now … let me know if you loved the same, have suggestions, or just want to poke fun at me about some of the more embarrassing indulgences! Leave a comment below or on the Insta @jessundecided … or hey, just come say HIII on April 20th at Boxcar Social (Queens Quay) at 2:30pm!
1) Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling … duh
2) The Golden Compass Trilogy by Philip Pullman … the movie did NOT do these books JUSTICE!
3) The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
… I have a thing for Fantasy Fiction Series … ok? Please don’t unfollow me :p
