It’s time to get a little personal with you all today.

I often get a lot of lovely messages from you cuties asking how I got to where I am today. Whether it be, how did I get to running my own blog + brand, how did I get to this point of my relationship + have a fiancé so young, how did I know becoming an entrepreneur was for me, to how did I know long distance was going to work for us?

Simply put, I learned to listen to my heart. I know that’s probably the most classic answer, but there’s nothing better than sticking to something that’s “Always Classic”.

And that’s why I’ve partnered with Reebok to share with you what “Always Classic” means to me!

To be “Always Classic” for me, is to always be true to yourself, to know what’s true in your heart and follow it to the ends of the earth.

I mean, if you really think about it, what’s more classic than yourself? We’re all unique, “classic” means something different to each of us, so we should own it. Nobody can say you’re “not classic” if being always classic means always being yourself. You’re the ONLY ONE that can see and live your truth.

They say that you can’t confine a classic. That classics are unstoppable, fierce, timeless, and fearless. Of course they are! I truly believe that if you follow your truth + heart, be YOUR classic, nothing can stop you from reaching for your dreams.

I struggled for so long, at least a decade, listening to everyone else around me tell me what I wanted to be, what I should be, what I should do, and where they saw me succeeding + excelling, that I could no longer hear my own voice inside my head. I had no idea who I truly was. I let others convince me that they knew me better than myself. That’s when I jumped from degree to degree, from career to career, “passion” to “passion” until I got so confused that I didn’t even know what I loved anymore. It got to the point where people would ask me what I loved to do, and I would just list off my resume – none of it which I truly felt passion for, more of an obligation.

Through all that confusion, I slowly started to discover my own voice again. I finally started to learn how to listen to my heart and believe in what I wanted. What I wanted wasn’t a 9-5 corporate job, or to become a conventional “professional”, I knew I wanted to make my own career… from scratch.

My sister actually inspired me to start Jess Undecided and it’s true when people say inspiration is everywhere, even from the most unexpected places. My sister, who had always wanted to be a doctor, was the one who helped me find my passion to become a creative.

The reason why people love the “classics” is because you can clearly tell it stems from an unshakeable truth. Whether it be the “classic you” that people so clearly love because you’ve found + live your classic truth or a classic pair of shoes that connect the present generation with a brand’s legendary heritage.

The reason why I was so excited to partner with Reebok to talk about their Reebok Classic collection was because at the heart of it, Reebok is reconnecting people with their truths. The Foundation product includes Classic Leather, Club C, Freestyle Hi and Workout! This legendary brand is connecting their heritage by making a statement that rings true in even today’s modern trends.

People still ask me if I think my career is sustainable, and question me about what I’m going to do when the fad for “content creators” is no longer relevant. Those are very real questions, but there’s always going to be doubt no matter what I (or you) choose to do. All I can say is that I finally started to live my classic truth and I’m not going to stop now. You just have to work hard to remain true to yourself. There will always be a place in the world for your passion, even if you have to evolve with it, but as long as you dare to live your classic truth, you’re “Always Classic”.
