LIFESTYLE // x PRESIDENT'S CHOICE FINANCIAL // HOW TO: GET READY FOR SPRING
Hey SPRING! Is that you?
I’ve been trying to manifest that spring feeling all the way from my wardrobe to my diet … on a budget of course – I AM planning a wedding, okay??
Thanks to the PC Financial® World Elite Mastercard® I think I’ve actually done it! Didn’t you know this warmer weather is definitely because I bought this all floral spring outfit? ;)
I’ve been using my PC Financial World Elite Mastercard to purchase everything I need to make my home + body feel spring ready. It really helps that with every purchase I’m earning PC Optimum points to redeem for MORE of my favorite spring items … and other life essentials of course!!
So let’s see what I got in my recent haul to SPRING FRESH my life …
Décor:
I treated myself to some fun new glassware for spring, I mean how cuuute are these cactus and pineapple glasses?! Plus, I even got these bamboo fibre bowls that add the beautiful natural touch that’s been missing in my dishware collection.
Also, something you might not have known … I always purchase my flowers from Loblaws because they have a great variety + I feel like I get the best “bang for my buck” and the fact that I get to keep collecting PC Optimum points with my PC Financial® World Elite Mastercard for every bouquet I buy!
Psttt… Did you know that you can get flowers on sale there?? You just have to keep an eye out for these steals – I got these hydrangeas on sale the other day!! The pastel colors are so perfect for spring!
Food:
What do you mean you updated your food for spring?? (You’re all probably wondering what I mean, right?)
Well - #1 is QUITE obvious, at least for me … spring means Easter!! Easter = CHOCOLATE EGGSSSS.
Seriously, my family might not be huge on celebrating Easter, but we always had Easter candy in the house and my favorite was always the pastel colored mini chocolate eggs.
On the other hand, for me, spring always brings me a feeling of freshness + light. It encourages me to turn over a new leaf. As much as I like to think I’m a pretty healthy eater (being a nutritionist and all), I definitely drop the ball during the winter with all the family feasts, holiday snacks, celebratory drinks … you name it! For me, I tend to kick start my lighter “clean eating” journey in the spring, which is why I recently opted to try the PC® sticky rice To make some veggie sushi rolls! I also tried the PC® green mango to see if it’s actually as ripe/non-stringy as it says on the label … and BOY was I pleasantly surprised. I might have to make a green mango salad next!! Yes, I’m addicted.
Side note: To make sushi rice, all I did was throw 1 cup of the PC® sushi rice into a rice cooker, and then add 1.5 tbsp of PC® white wine vinegar into the mix. Cool for 1 h in the fridge + voila! (I don’t add sugar like a lot of recipes call for, the wine wine vinegar adds a hint of sweetness to the mix!)
Wardrobe:
Wait what? Am I wearing a full FLORAL outfit??
Well yes my cute friends, your eyes are not deceiving you.
Confession: I honestly walk by the Joe Fresh® section of the store EVERY week when I go grocery shopping and have convinced myself I don’t need more clothes… but with my PC Financial World Elite Mastercard, I realized shopping is really giving me MORE opportunities to shop!
So I finally gave in and tried on the new collection and I fell in love with this dark teal floral print ensemble. I’m OBSESSED with full head to toe coordinated looks. I was so drawn to this more masculine floral print I decided to get both pieces. I love how soft and light this top is in contrast to the more structured trouser. It gives the feminine, yet still menswear inspired look I’m always drawn to. PLUS, these pants … they have an ELASTIC waist! Ya, I know, you wouldn’t ever know looking at these photos!!
So there you have it, that’s how I was able to spruce up my life + feel spring ready on a “wedding budget” … yes cuties, it’s a thing … because WHO KNEW (well other than people who’ve already gotten married) that weddings would be SO SO SO SO SO EXPENSIVE?!
Until next time my friends!
Xx
